Why do even GM's tarp on this server?

I think it's pretty lame that one or more GM's feel the need to tarp.

3 Years ago this would have been true. Now, it is not.

Oh and hiding identities has a very simple reason: Bias. Not bias by the GMs to the players, but rather the other way around. If a player doesn't get along with another player, and  that other player becomes a GM, they would not feel comfortable by their tickets being handled by that person since they dislike them and would expect a "rough" or "unprofessional" treatment. So if that GM then tells them they will have to pay the recovery fee, the player might start shit saying that "Oh you are only saying this cause you hate me" etc. etc. etc.

We want to be viewed as the staff, not as anyone else. We work on a unbiased basis and we don't favor ( or shun ) anyone. Giving up our identities and adapting a new one is part of this process.

Additionally to what Talis said, I wouldn't like to reveal my identity for another reason, that is, people that still play and that are in your ICQ/MSN/AIM contact list. It didn't only happen once that players who figured out who I am (or thought they did) started IMing me, asking me to take care of their problems, to answer their questions, etc.
Now, if you've got a problem or a question, you send in a support ticket like everyone else, and although I might consider them as friends, I don't want to favor them by helping them the "inofficial" way, instead of the "official" way via support ticket, just because they know me. Talk about favoritism, lol.
Most of you guys have never been a GM, so you don't know what it is like to be one.

As for the tarping issue: Although Praeline likes to refer to me as an individual with large fluffy breasts, I am actually a male.
