i am at a local library trying to get this to work on a vista laptop. does anyone else use libraries or can anyone offer some help so i can get this thing working. i am mostly having problems patching the sakray, alt sakray, and anthem patcher. please someone help me out.

You need to run most of the things with UAC off, or you run risk of the files not writing properly.  This is mainly with installation, however.

dont know what that all means. i am adding more to this now. i am hard wired to a modem with my Vista laptop i copied the anthem install file from a desktop that is running xp and it has no problems but me hard wired to the same modem on my vista and i still can not run sakray alt sakray or anthem patch. it says failed to connect to file server. help me please. im lost in all of this. my ex wife had a sony via with vista and had no problem back when this was anima. and i am not sure what to do to make this work. so can someone please help me out. i even went as far as turning off my fire walls and it still did not work

UAC is "User Account Control" In vista, you can get to this through the control panel. This is the thing where when you click on certain programs, a pop-up dialogue tells you that the program is trying to do x, but needs permission to do so. Usually, you just click "run anyways" or the "yes" button, and it runs like normal. For the sakray patchers, that pop-up never gets a chance to come up, so it just fails completely. Thus, you need to go to the control panel and turn that off.

Control Panel --> Security Settings --> "Other Security Settings" Drop-down menu --> Turn UAC off.

Try again, if it doesn't work, post again, and someone'll be able to help you.

ok so i turned off the UAC but i still can not patch the alt sakray what now???

try right clicking on it and choosing "run as administrator"

also, are you the only user on the laptop? or are there other users? are you sure your account has admin capabilities?

hmm... dunno what to say then. Can you tell me exactly what kind of error you're getting? Copy and paste the error here, maybe? or if you can't do that, can you describe what's happening?

what happens is when i try and run sakray all i get is a screen with korean then a pop up with a series of ? marks. so i try running the alt sakray it goes through until it says attempting to connect file server it stalls then give a pop up saying failed to connect file server pm ill give you my msn or yim
