Yes yes i know Mainchat is available now.
But what i see is people socializing and then some asshole telling everyone they're annoying and just begin insulting people.
Then every1 just starts throwing insults at each other and by the end of it everyone threatens each other with reports and
it falls silent.

A.k.a. you need better !main chat moderation.

Better moderation wouldnt do a thing, some assholes would just do what assholes do, and for those who live by the rules, would be more cautious when it comes to main chat and in the end, you'll barely get anyone using the main chat. Why?

1. To avoid trolls
2. To avoid breaking the rules
3. When theres so much restriction, theres nothing left to say in main chat.

Oh trust me, better moderation works (it does on my server). You will need to set up a pretty strict rule for foul language on !main chat, moderate it as a GM/PR from time to time and rely on player reports for the rest. It helps, really.

For example, i saw a screenie in the "Post your screenshot" thread of a rouge posting his progression in the game.
He joined in on the Seasonal Event and WORKED for the items there, (like the rest of us).
in the end he got a jewel box, got a necklace[1] and made 10m. In his first 2 weeks on the server.
and i'd be willing to bet that during that event he met new players, leveled up, and became attracted to the game
enough that he still plays or at least played for a while.
Just after 2 weeks.

We need more of this.

I've seen his screenie and to be frank, not everyone is as lucky as him. Yeah I've seen his screenie. In fact, we don't have seasonal events that often, about 2 major events per annum to be exact.

Some people claim they saw a lot of new people coming in, what they don't know is that there are a lot of people leaving as well, newbies and vets.

I agree, that's extremely lucky.
but the fact that he even worked for the jewel box means he was participating in the event. (as a new player)

The thing is, what happens in main chat doesnt make people leave or come.

The issue is why our community its getting lower?

Main chat is just another addition, as time goes by, people will get used to however the server moderate it.

The player Slurpy mentioned who "said he would break the rules and wait out the mute" was me, when I suggested that an alternate global channel be introduced for B>S>, and to implement harsher penalties for breaking mainchat rules because the current ones were pretty mild. I haven't played for a coupla weeks, but when I left, people were still going "B> whatever" in mainchat, then "whoops sorry" and getting away with it. >_>

Harsher punishments? Do you guys really wanna get banned for a "looking for leech, pm me" in main chat? Oh well, if that's what you want, no problem. I thought 24h mutes were quite harsh, since I remember people kept crying about the ridiculously small 2-6h mutes for street vends and chats...

Besides, as I said, main chat is logged, so I simply need the name of the offender, and I can look it up. No need for a detailed report or anything. I can't be online all the time. Most of the time during the day, I'm at work/uni, and I'm not always in front of the computer when I'm at home.

On a note with the B/T/S chat, a Market/Trade or something chat would be nice. Convenience, and simple redirection. If you don't want spammed, turn it off. Main chat I have seen some advice given, and some socializing. I believe at this point it is fine. Also, on the note of banning.. I could see bans being appropriate in situation of repeat offenders or severe offenses, but for little mistypes would just bring the playerbase down even more. It's never good to feel like you have to watch every little step you make else face the banhammer.

i actually do not know, peopel say oh main chats neat cause you can ask for questions and stuff but then people get lazy and go  JST GO TO FORUM AND SEARCH X GUIDE OK

It would be better if it was on by default just so people know its there.  They can turn it off if they don't want to see it.

I was playing some server cause they had RO chess and you use your character to move the pieces pretty cool game but on their server they have this annoying mute. Like if you get a 3 hour mute or whatever amount it may be, it'll ask you a random question about your character like what level you are, name, job level and things like that and if you couldn't answer the question in 1-2 mins it would force log off your character. Plus it would ask questions randomly like maybe every 3 mins or every 10 mins. The questions asked were random so you can't time when the next question comes, and you'd have to stare at the screen for however long the mute is and answer annoying questions about your character. That way players really learned and people kind of avoided breaking rules. It's like the most annoying thing ever.
