Do you have the new green-looking patcher?
If not, here are the instructions I posted in another thread:
1.) Download the new patcher from ftp://174.142.186.140/animuspatch.exe
2.) Put that file inside your AnimusRO folder, replacing the old patcher
3.) Run the patcher and make sure it looks like this:
4.) Start playing (hopefully)
I'm not so sure about your second problem. I guess I would try patching first. If that doesn't work out, a reinstall with the mini-installer would be a good idea. Just remember to keep the new patcher when you reinstall.
