A question about assassin and crits and gear.

Ok so i have a +10 DDMA jur i just got and a gryph valk +2 celebs.
Here is what i would like to know.
Ok when i reset my stats all my gears are still on at this point in time without adding any stats anywhere my critical is at 47
now from what i under stand if you have 50 crit and are usen a jur/katar the number dbles so say you have 50 crit it's supose to actually 100 this is just what i heard from some other sins out there.ok now since my crit with stat reset is at 47 i added enough to get 50 crit,ok seems about right but then once i start to add str my crit lowers i have tested this serval times now is there a reason that once i start to add str that my critical lowers?it's just something that i have not seen before so i thought i would ask.
Any ideas or suggestions would be great.

Simple, set your str stat before luk/crit.
