hey everyone i'm new here and wondering if i should donate and if so what for, maybe even can someone give me tips on which character i should pick and what to spec?

Welcome! Personally, its always nice when people donate for the server but that is always up to you. As for a character, that all depends on what you like to play. Do you like magic? Up close combat? Supporting? Ranged Attacks? Theres plenty of options and each class is pretty fun to play around with.

Donating helps support the server, so it never hurts to do so. There are many things you can get in exchange for donating. I do still suggest you try training and adapting to a preferred class, and learn a few good techniques/game strategies before diving into the wonders of powerful items. Once you're sure what you want to do, you can work on it and get gears (from donating or simply making/saving money in game) that will help you and will fit your class. It really depends on you. Pick a class that you feel interested in and just try it out. If it's not your cup of tea, you can always try another. Like Mirenia said: Do you like magic or melee class? Support or Attack? Ranged or close combat?

Hey there, and welcome to Animus.

Before you go on to donating and gearing up a class, you should learn about each individual one.  Also, some classes require more money and gears than others, and vice versa. 

My recommendation is that you go ingame and frequent PVP, look at different classes and how people use them (although some people will not play their class to 100% potential), also, look around at how each class plays their role and maybe you'll determine which is right for you.

In this server, WS/BS are generally mobbing classes; LKs are versatile and are decent/good Mobbers, solo killers and tankers; Assassin Crosses are generally straight up killers, some of them use flee and others focus on high Vit with high reductions. 

Priests/HPs focus on support, but others have used them for mobbing and killing in maps loaded with undead monsters; Champions/Monks are also versatile in how you can melee, burst damage (asura) or do a ranged attack (Finger Offensive).

There are a lot more classes that I'm missing out (Bio, Pally, Prof, Minstrel, Sniper, High Wiz, etc).  If you have any questions on them feel free to PM me and I'd be more than happy to help you out.
