What does this mean

I am trying to play a game but it gives the error message "Failed to find sutalbe display device"  The game worked before I reinstalled the operating system.  What do I have to do to fix it?

Install/update your video card drivers and/or install DirectX?

Then click the setup icon in your RO folder and change the first drop-down box to the new Graphics Card.
