I want to restart in this server but I'm having real trouble on which class to start with, and it would be my main, not a mule. Due to the customs and economic prices, I can't really tell which would be the best choice. At least in your opinion. Which?.. Thanks in the future.

I would say start with a class that's
1) Easy to level
2) Has the ability to make money, without working too hard

Now I like a lot of classes and main a WS/SinX, and i like hunters, priests, wizards, champs, and so on. However.

The first class i suggest you make is a Crusader. Why?
Well they start from a Swordsman. Swordsman has that awesome "Magnum Break" Skill. Use that to mob and kill things faster. At about job 40-50. Depends on you, you can change to a crusader.

Now here's the beauty of it. There is a card everyone loves. Eddga. Perm. gives you endure skill. This skill is a Swordsman Class skill. So only a Crusader and Knight can get it. There's 15-18m saved. And very useful.

Also everyone in goes and gets those DBSS maces and try to make money. B in the DBSS is Bapho card. Splash dmg. But if you become a Grand Cross Crusader you already do dmg around you. I'ts a skill though, so like a wiz you will be using a lot of GJ. The good part about this is though. If a wizard gets hit while casting, the cast stops. For grand cross it doesn't. Wizards use a card that ads 25% more casting time, but it can't be interrupted. That card is worth about 2m right now. There's another 2m saved, and no extra casting time. You can still level quick, not waste as much money on gears.

Ohh right forgot about one of the most important parts. Every class has their HP bar. Usually for a wizz or a  magic class HP is low and SP is high. For assassins and close combat classes the HP is higher than a magic class, but the SP is lower. Because you're like, a mix of both. You get HP thats 2-3x higher then an assassin or a wizard, near the same level and same gears.

Anyway. There are a lot of good classes and choices. Easy ways to level each class, and ways to make money with each class. In my opinion though Crusader is a perfect blend of both. :D

If you have any questions PM me. And since im bored right now i could help you level and such when you're on. :D

make rogue and go have fun in toy factory. stay there to get tons of cakes to sell.
if you want, stay till 99, trans into a different class, buy your gears with the cake money for that class you now play

much easier, not fun but at least more practical
Spoiler for ign:
Kurip - HP (99/70)
Akyu - prof (99/6*)
Sanri - HP (99/70)
mesousa - baby sage (99/50)
ruyuri - gypsy (in progress)
..

You could also use assassins, but they don't have auto steal skill. But getting to 99 on a rouge takes ages. And for it to be any useful you need at least some gears.

Try out a Rogue; by using a Rogue you can not only steal items and have a high amount of flee. But you can also steal their money as well by using their skill known as Steal Coin. So by stealing items and money, you will be racking up a lot of money in no time. Like what Kurip has said before, take a Rogue to Toy Factory with a high Dex/Agi build with a decent amount of strength. Then use the skills Steal and Steal Coin. Keep any Cookies and Cakes you find and vend them as a Merchant.

Edit: If you also decide to use it further, a Rogue can also equip Bow type weapons and learn Double Strafing. So if you really wanted to, you could go level your Rogue like you would for an Archer class. Not to mention you can learn almost any skill in the game by using Plagiarism; which becomes a very fun skill later on. Then if you decide to trans your Rogue into a Stalker. You can preserve the skill you learn from Plagiarism, make people hurt themselves when they attack you by using Reject Weapon, You can also learn Full Strip which is a combination of all 4 strip moves (very helpful PvP skill!). You also get a special kind of cloak as a Stalker known as Chase Walk which will make you immune to uncloaking moves.

Your opinions will change as the game goes on. If you start with a crusader you can get to level 99/50 while making a bit of cash for gears.
Then switch to one of the classes above. I'd say once you tranz try be a Stalker, because they're fun.

Wow.. I never realized how Crusaders really are reasonable.. Thank you so much.. but .. Are there any Guides and Builds that I could follow in this forum ? I'd like to make sure I'm on the right track even if there are Skill and Stat resets.. And Thanks again, also for being mature and helpful.  :)

Well. There isn't a GUIDE per say, but there is a discussion thread. Here's the link to it.

http://www.anthemro.com/forums/index.php/topic,1287.0.html

And if you're interested i could help you out. Get you a nice start. I'm not too rich myself so i can't promise really good awesome stuff but i can get you some basic equipment. I can also help you out with builds and skill trees. Where to level questions and stuff. PM me on the forums if you're interested.

But here's a site that can help you with all your skill tree questions.

:D Good luck. And welcome to AnthemRO. Hope you like it here.

Err.. It's interesting how there are 3 different builds... More I think... Let me guess.... Support... Shield...Grand Cross.. and Spear.. Which one would most likely be easy to get to at least.. say.. 85 or so?... Near the maximum..

EDIT: ... Oh.. and why did people... Suggest Hunter the most?... And.. I heard there's this job called Monk... But I also heard it's a pain in the neck, Maybe I will start and focus on a Crusader first.. What do you think?..

Well. Support is, Tank. You would have a lot of defense, and no offence. Kind of hard to level alone. But can prove useful once you get in the 90's.
Spear is for Knights mainly. Its not that useful.
Grand Cross is the most useful build. You still have a lot of Health /Vit. You can heal yourself in case you get low on HP. You can kill lots of monsters at once with Grand Cross. It has nice damage. You also still require STR for grand cross so you can just hit something when you get lazy. But that's once you get the skill. First off everyone is nubby and fights with a sword.

If you look at the class lay out. You have a novice that goes to the first five basic classes.
Swordsman
Mage
Acolyte
Merchant
Thief

Acolyte's use heal to kill monsters. They are a pain to level. But once you get to monk it gets a bit easier. The reason people go to monk is because they have a skill called Asura. It can kill lots of monsters. Even a weak asura, thats not stated can do about 50k dmg on a monster. The problem is, it takes skill to be a good monk. Its a hard class to play. Mages are fun but they require lots of time and money. Merchants are just a pain in the ass to level because. Well. They don't get skills that help them level until they hit the next class. Thieves are good, make lots of money and easy to level at first. Harder to level once you get to lvl 90. A lot harder. Swordsman are kind of. The opposite. Hard to level at first. Easy to level once you get Grand Cross.

And why did people chose hunter? You only have 4-5 choices up there. They're not that great. The best choices are Hunter and Rouge.  I just said hunter because, out of those choices, hunter is the funnest to play. :D

And actually. I have learned that you can't just have one class and be awesome. You need more then one. If instead of asking for one class, you would have asked for a good way to start playing RO i would have said something like this:

Make a crusader. This will be your main. Easy to level. Good in combat. Very versatile.
In addition to this. You will always need money. Make a merchant. He will be your seller. (Make sure he is on a separate account from your other 2 characters, I would let them all be on a different account)
But you get money from somewhere right? Yes. Cakes. Make a Rouge.

Use the rouge to gather cakes for money. You don't need this character to be really high in levels. You will make lots of money. The character will get loads of EXP. It can also be your secondary character.

Use the merchant to sell EVERYTHING you get from monsters. Sounds weird yes. But 24% from everything you sell can prove to be very useful. Thats from every 100k ,24k is made. So if you spend 24k on meat and GJ, and make 100k in that time. Thats 100k pure profit. The meat and GJ payed for its self.

And finally your Crusader can be your main. The money you gain can be used to get him better gears. Buy him leeches. And so on.

  • I fail in every class!
If you ask more than 1 character...then it means the second one will always be the merchant class!... who can live without one? ;D
