Another computer question :D
« on: January 03, 2008, 02:57:25 am »
When talking about the monitor for a computer, does it really matter if its a flat screen or if its one of those big fat old ones, with the back protruding?

rofl, no.

LCD screens give much higher quality and resolutions. The only reason you should get a CRT is to save money.

CRT's have a better refresh rate than that of LCD's. With some LCD's, if you skip on the price tag a bit, then you may experience ghosting if you play FPS. If you're a hard core gamer, I would say go with a high end LCD with a low refresh rate, or a CRT. Otherwise, nearly any ol' LCD is fine really.
No longer high GMing. Please do not message me about your recovery. Don't give away the keys to your car and you won't have it stolen and have to go to the police to try and get it back.

Hahaha, I'm just imagining how a RO FPS would be. How wierd.

Yeah, that's only true for lower-priced LCDs and older ones, but most of the new ones work fine. for example, all of Dell's Basic Entry-Level LCDs are all great quality and have great refresh rates and little to no ghosting/lag on FPSs.
