Question About De-Slotting

I'm just curious about how this works... is it $5 to START deslotting and then +2 for every card in it? or is it +2 AFTER the first card removed?

It start with +5 for unsloting,
Let said u got a 4 slots weapon, u want to keep the weapon,so is +5+2+2+2+2+2 =15ad

Correct. You can also unslot only a few cards and keep the weapon with the remaining cards still in it. Example:

DDTT Comp bow. You want to take the two doppleganger cards out and keep the TTxx Comp Bow. $5 to start, 4$ for removing the two Dopples ($2 x 2) and $2 to keep the weapon = $11
