Can someone be banned for flaming in Ranters

Do not flame. Flaming or harassing other players on the forums is absolutely against the rules. Minor offenses will be given warnings, but further offenses will result in temp or possibly permanent bans. Ranter's has a bit of leeway in this rule, as some flaming is almost expected when you enter this section. However, people who posts excessive flames, even in Ranter's, will be given warnings, and possibly even temp bans or permanent bans if things go too far.

So yes. Act like a jerk enough and it can happen. Compile stuff outside of ranters and I'm sure it doesn't  help your case of not being banned.

Take for example the Haruwa and Silver incident.  Someone got nearly banned out of that instance.  I'm sure if it gets out of hand enough, there will be consecuences - even in ranter's.

Well its understandable if some guy is flaming everybody and being a jerk he'll get banned but... what if two people in question have a history of flaming each other?

Lets take a purely theoretical scenario where two girls on the forums seriously dislike each other. Lets call them "Yukiko-chan" and "Firemaiden-onee-sama". They have a history of flaming each other back and forth and various drama.

Lets assume that Firemaiden-onee-sama is very tough and aggressive and actually has Yukiko-chan scared to post because she thinks she'll get banned. In fact, no warnings were issued by a moderator to either side as of yet. Would it be safe for Yukiko-chan to flame Firemaiden-onee-sama at this point?

If I were Yukiko-Chan, I'd resume my forum posting without flaming anyone and would stay away from Firemaiden-onee-sama.  I'd also keep comments to my self and be as pacific as I can.  If after I post neutral stuff and Firemaiden-onee-sama comes to provoke me, I'd report her post as a "Lure" to start a flame-fest, and let Varis deal with it.
