Explain how a Rollback works?

I decided to roll back a character to a character I can easily level to finally achieve my sniper.

So...from what I've heard you roll back to whatever class you want and the base level stays the same, but the job level goes back to 1?

The character being rolled back is a 97 wizard.
Do I have to change back to an archer to make a hunter? or can I just change to a hunter and still have all my archer skills leveled up?

from there you need to get the job lvls to get to the class you want

but why not stick to wizard since you have AoE spells that can help you kill mobs?

and when you hit 99 wiz
go transcend and pick high archer > Sinper

go transcend and pick high archer > Sinper

I got bored of the wizard class. When I created the wizard, I wanted to MVP all the way to 99, but now that the MVP teleport, it's a bitch. I don't feel like wasting time with all that Quagmire+SW crap. People suggest Niff...I would die too much and it would be a pain in my ass...besides the fact I can't stand that place.

Plus, I just started Thor-ing and I really enjoy it so far, so I want to get the rest of my levels by doing Thor. Someone suggested just buying a leech, but I am broke. I don't have many friends who would give me a free leech. >_>

Yeah. I have a specific way of my sniper's name I want to use, which is Malakai Alexandre with no periods or anything. I will also still have the hunter I am messing around on that's my main right now. I'll eventually 99 that and trans it into something or just keep it 99 for nontrans fun stuff like WoE or fun pvp
