Mostly useless without good cards, I'd imagine.

Honestly as a sage, I'd think your best bet is to use magic.  Even without IC, you can level very well spamming soul strike in prison up to level 80 or so (that's what I did with my wizard, long before I ever had IC).  Dry levelling, but it can be done.  You could actually hit 80 or higher in a few days at most, if you work hard.

lol, Prison, just like when I made a Monk.

Noob question, what is IC?

Instant cast.

How do you do an instant cast?

Wtih 150 Dex, or 100% Cast-reduction.

Most people who want IC will go for 150 Dex since 100% Cast-reduction is hard to archive without Bragi except for Crusader/Paladin.

150 DEX o.O

I didn't even know stats went above 100.
Then again, I've never had a Trans character. >.>

basically you max dex to 99, and then keep getting dex increasing gear - ie. two sting gloves (+ 5 dex), stem worm muffler (+5 dex), kaho (+20), Gargoyle/moonlight flower (+5 dex), drops/dex survivor's rod (+4 dex), rocker armor (+1 dex). I think that's all of them..

if I could still play, I would go help you hunt some of the cards down. I have good luck with cards (found most of mine on my own ^^ ) Its not too hard, luckily the monsters like stem worm gargoyle and stings are easy enough to kill solo, so you can do it /no1

Not for me, apparently I'm not very good at this game.

I see people talking about things on this forum all the time and I haven't a clue.
Vendors sell things for what seems to me like rediculous amounts of zeny, into the multi millions.
And here I am having trouble ever building up a couple hundred thousand.

Been here since Anima and made all those characters, and still feel like a Novice.

I don't know how people do it.
When I try exploring to find new places, I'll be on a map where killing all the available monsters is too easy for my character.
Then walk one map away and I'm getting slaughtered.

I see first job characters doing better than me too often.

dont worry, that's how everyone started out /ok It took me two years just to get my first kaho, and I was playing a lot. And I spent my first year str-basing a wizard 8D So yeah, everyone doesn't know what they're doing at first, then they gradually learn. What class are you playing as your main?

lol, I made my first character a Wizard (see sig) and I at least knew not to give him too worry about his STR. :D

I still haven't a clue what a kaho is...

Umm... every character in my sig is my main except the merchant. >.>
The Merchant is too boring, slow and bad to use as anything but a shop. >.<

Anyway, I tend to get up to second class and stop around 50-70.
Only my Knight and Crusader have I gotten above 70 because they were really easy for me.
But even my Novice (which I intend to keep a normal Novice) is Level 52.

Anyway, I lose interest in the same class too long and just start over.

well that's fine, however you want to play is okay, since its a game and you should be playing for fun. If you want to be tough and strong and beat everyone else though, or save up for good things, then you need to actually build a class up all the way.
Kaho is an item, costs 100$ to donate, about 80mil to buy in game (price is always changing because of ad credits though) - anyways, it gives really good stats, which is +20 to dex int and str - and some defense too I think.

I would suggest joining a guild, that would keep your interest in your class longer since you lvl up with parties. Dont join a WOE guild though, since they'll expect you to attend woe and be contributing a lot, and then it just sucks.

lol, my current Sage has her own guild, non-WOE

It only has 24-26 people in it anyway.
The only thing It's being taxed for is so I can keep leveling up the number of members.

Actually, IC is pretty hard - you can farm the cards if you like, but it will take you forever to get them.  Even with all the cards, you still can't achieve IC without kahos, which are around 80m to buy.

That's why I recommend soul strike, it does great damage on the undead in prison and it's almost instant-cast even without any gears.  If you do that you can get full int (no dex at all) and level fine in prison up to 80 or more, depending on how much patience you have.  It just takes a bit of practice to hit and run (you can't possibly tank that damage, so you have to hit them with soul strike when they're far away from you, then run further and repeat) - unless you're extremely laggy, anyone can do it.
The sun is the same, in a relative way, but you're older, and shorter of breath, and one day closer to death.

I already had Soul Strike Level 10 since I was a Mage.

I typically train my characters in their first job in Payon Dungeon, so it helps there.

And I was in prison the other day.
