Some advices on guilds
« on: March 23, 2009, 06:39:43 pm »
I just started out on my new journey in aRO but I have often seen guild members training as a group. For someone new like me, I do not really have  many friends and sometimes training alone is a very bored thing.

Since I am still much of a beginner and a newbie, I am wondering which guild i should aim to join in the future if i am looking for a guild which can...

1) give me appropriate advices on game mechanics, places to farm, and etc etc.
2) train together, farm together and fight bosses together.
3) a guild that doesn't focus on individuals elitism but rather the member's attitude and his/her ability as a team player.
4) a guild which can help and allow new potential players to slowly blossom into "Pros" which can contribute to the guild.

I know its still too early for me since I just started not long ago, but I hope I can have a target I can aim for. So with that, I hope you guys can give me some advices on this.

Please also note that I am in no way comparing the many guilds in aRO, but just looking for some recommendations on the guild/s that I would want to aim for in the later part of my journey.

Thanks in advance for anybody who provided any recommendations, as i would not be able to come online often this few days  ;D

It really Depends.
You wanna WoE?
Then are some guilds that might help you, but If you wanna be more social, Join a social non-woe Guild, Like Asterisk :D

Cool ^^

I just check out the guild recruitment section, Asterisk seem like the ideal guild for new players to make friends and such( from the guild intro it sounds like the guild "fairy tail" from a manga I read, having fun and all  :P ). I'll try applying once I get a more stable connection and is more active, since it is stated that inactive people will be boot ^^;.

Thanks for your recommendation ^^

Hmm join any prison based guilds - they are usually good and active.

My suggestion ... Join any guild that would have you :D

There are many good guilds out there that are not so well known, Look around see if you like the people or the activity

and stay or go when you decided

If you leave join another guild and repeat ...

Also look at the people at the place where you spawn... sometimes starting random conversations with them helps break the ice...
Make friends, etc etc etc...

My opening Statement usually is " MARRY ME"   errr that or "ADOPT ME" :D
But thats just me :P

Also looking at the players on the Map you like to level in and havig convos with them is another way .... errr Same statements as above :D
Guardian Shadow
Guardian Kaiser
Guardian Khan
Guardian Dragon
Guardian Gold
Guardian Silver
Guardian Dark
Paladin
High Wizard
Assasin Cross
High Priest
Blacksmith
Biochemist
Champion

Those would probably be Synchronize or Twilight Zone. I find they're usually pretty friendly.

I myself am in Asterisk, though.  ;)

Probably the gayest looking drinks you can find.
@Infalk: Go look up a long island iced tea. = /
NO U! I drink my drinks straight, like a man.  >:(
Unless I'm drunk enough to start taking whiskey/milk alternating shots.
Sorry but any drink consumed must come fully equipped with a pink umbrella and a crazy straw.
Of course it also may have assorted fruits strewn about the rim of the glass, but only if I'm feeling dangerous.

Thanks everyone for the overwhelming responses,  ;D

I didn't expect so many people to reply here xD.. (only expecting 1~2)

As of now, I have a rough idea of which guild I should try to get it to, thanks to the many different advices.

However since I am currently on vacation in Australia, joining one will have to be push back to a later date.

Once again, thanks you guys.  8)

the most important factor of a guild is the level of activeness and the social strength of the guild
as long as you feel comfortable, that guild should be fine

I'd also suggest Asterisk. Brahms, our leader, does just about everything, and knows just as much. If you can catch him when he's not afk, then you have a valuable RO encyclopedia on your hands. And we talk rather often, and it's fun.

I definitely suggest Asterisk. Brahms is a really good guy, the guild is quite active; they do many, many events,
and they're a non-woe guild, so they don't expect you to be decked out with gear. My Girlfriend is currently in that guild,
and she enjoys it quite a bit.

Asterisk is a good guild and Brahms keeps you entertained all the time xD
That d00d should make it a war guild. He will definately be successful.
Not to mention he is one of the best LKs on the server so an excellent source of info :P

Cool, Asterisk is like the most highly recommended non-woe social guild.

I'll try my best once I return to Singapore

Thanks you guys  :D

Just wondering, whats the biggest different between a woe guild and a non-woe guild? Other then the fact that they woe...
