« on: January 02, 2009, 02:54:02 pm »
I saw an pic at ITT: YOU LAUGH YOU LOSE thread in Off-Topic at page 346 (see my post there) and I want to make it my signature (siggy, sig, isn't it signature?  ???)
So how can I get it? And is it too big? So I have to put it to "Spoiler" -thing?
Spoiler for MUST SEE ;D:

To put it in your signature you need to get the URL of the image. After that, go into your Profile, and then on the left hand side you will see "Forum Profile Information". Click that, and put the URL in image tags.

Code: (Image Tags) [Select]
[img]http://imgurlhere[/img]
Note that our forum has a 190 pixel height limit - If your signature goes over that height, then you will receive a warning from a forum moderator, and have your signature placed into a spoiler. To make a spoiler, simply use the following code.

Code: (Spoiler tag) [Select]
[spoiler=Spoilernamehere]Insert the img tag, or whatever you want really[/spoiler]
Spoiler for spoilernamehere:
Insert the img tag, or whatever you want really

Hope that helps!

to get the url is getting the host of the image.
like http//imageshack.us/thisiswheretheimageishosted.html

to do that you just rightclick the image and copy/past the url shown.

It is way over 190 pixels.
If you have Firefox, you can try right-clicking on that image and clicking Properties to check how big your siggy is if that's the only thing you have in your sig.

EDIT : Read this.

Quote
how do i measure it with the words, i only know how to measure the actual picture (right click, properties) but not the whole signature.
There are a few ways.

1) If you're using Firefox 3.0 (not sure if it's available for other versions, or if any other browsers have something similar), there is a Add-On tool called MeasureIt which allows you to select an area on your browser window, and it'll give you the dimensions of that area. This is what I use to check signature heights. It's extremely fast and easy. The only thing you have to keep in mind when using this tool is that the measurement includes the 1-pixel width border that the MeasureIt tool creates, meaning that if the tool says your selected area is 152 pixels high, it's actually only 150 (1 pixel border on both top and bottom).

2) If you don't have that for an option, there's not really a fast way to do it, but the way isn't that hard either; it's just more time consuming. Basically, use the print screen button to take a snapshot of your browser window when you have your signature showing, and then open up an image editing program like MSPaint or Adobe Photoshop, and paste the screen shot there. Use the crop tool to eliminate everything that is not your signature. After you have only the signature remaining, you can check the properties to see how high it is.

EDIT 2 : Also, try not to double/triple/quadruple-post please.
