Berz or Sting Gloves Question

Please someone, get it straight for me, coz i've been on this winding road called does-cast-reducing-gears-give-you-ic-plenty-say-yes-and-plenty-say-no.

So, reducing cast time by 100% gives u IC, right? If wrong, i got it, no need to read further. If right, then a wiz could get ic with

2 berz 66%
1 di uppear headgear (like kawaii ribbon or detective hat OR MAGIC EYES) 10%
1 di blinker 10%
1 Wing Staff 3%
1 Robe of Casting 5%
1 DL shoes 20% (or 30%?)

Lets see...

66 + 10 + 10 + 3 + 5 + 20 = 114% Reduction
66 + 10 + 10 + 3 + 5 + 30 = 124% Reduction

ONLY paladins can get IC with cast reduction gear, its called aegis plus that stuff and i think something else.

EDIT: if you are not a paladin you need 150 dex, so 99 dex + dex gears + job stat bonuses = IC

Yes Talvi is right, your a priest.

Only paladins can get IC with cast reduction gears (berz clips etc...)

The problem is he cant get IC even with berz and Sting glove because he dont have kahos.He is asking for a better casting time.

Since he had a berz clip,I suggest get a phen clip.So u can land your ME without getting interupt.

As a paladin about 80-90 dex and a berz clip is pretty fast, 70-80 dex with 2 berz clips is much faster, maybe use safety wall?

I KNOW! I can't have instant cast because I do NOT have kaho. My thread wasn't even about achieving instant cast. I know other classes besides Paladin need 150 DEX (gears included) to have IC.

My simple question was...

Berz clips: 60/66 cast reduction? Bad or good? Does it stack with your other stuff or is it added to it?
OR
+10 more dex from Sting gloves.

Which would ultimately give me the best cast time? I don't have instant cast, but I would like a fairly decent cast at any rate, and which would give me the fastest cast WITHOUT having IC or CLOSE to IC?

My dex 99+32 with Bless.

I have ALL the dex gears (Besides KAHO and sting gloves!)

Would it benefit more to get rid of the berzes or go with sting gloves?

99+42 = 141...very close to 150.
Thus if I had a bard playing any bragi. I would be IC.

Basic cast time formula
Base time * (1 - DEX/150)

Now let's say you have 131 DEX as you have.

(1-(131/150))
1-0,873333333....
Which comes to about 0,127. Which is 12.7% of original cast time.
Now with berzes you'll get 12.7*0,40=5.08
So with 131 DEX your cast time would be a bit over 5% of your original cast time.

with 141 DEX with Sting gloves.

(1-(141/150))
1-0,94=0,06
Which comes to 6% of your original cast time.

I'm not 100% sure if this but it would seem that berzes give a slightly better reduction the Stings.

dex 99+32 with bless & stat bonuses

AoA (3 dex)
Stem Worm Muffler (5 dex)
Shoes of Serenity (5 dex)
Survivor rod [drops] (4 dex)
Rocker armor (1 dex)
and of course my berz clips.

total dex I have...

So if I had 141 dex (using sting gloves) I would be casting faster then I would with the berz clips?

get two sting gloves then u will have a cast very close to IC berz is for saders and palys

Sting Gloves are better in your case.

Berzes are better as of right now for you (2 Berzes = 11.4 DEX with your current equips and I am assuming 2 Berzes = 60% reduction) but you will not be able to get IC from Berz so you might as well start investing in Sting Gloves right now. Sting Gloves will raise the cast time of ME by 140 milliseconds so obviously, it's not really a big deal. Stings are also cheaper so you'll be able to use that extra zeny to put towards something else. Also I would not recommend Rocker Armor as there are much better things you can put in that slot.

Any class can get IC with 100% cast time reduction OR 150 DEX but the only class that can get 100% cast time reduction is the Paladin. Aozora your calculations are wrong because DL does not reduce cast time.

I calculated the cast time time with 131 DEX then multiplied it with the remaining cast time you get the after the 60% reduction from berzes. After that I just calculated the DEX reduction.
Where do you see a DL in my calculations? o.o;
