Just of curiosity, are there ways to make slotted awe,ewe,blinkers,etc other than the AD store?

Yes. You can make Blinker [1], Awe/Ewe [1] in Prontera, in the building where you change Job. (Look for the NPC Chiquita)
And I think Cyclop's Eye [1] in Hugel near the Poring Race npc.
