« on: November 28, 2008, 10:31:40 am »
So why is it that more people go for the gladius rather than the saber?
Spoiler for IGNs:

Spoiler for Lulz:
If you're bored, look for something else to do, for example go on a trip around the world with your landlord and his girlfriend or w/e. Thank you for understanding.
Yeah. Fuck what I posted here, I'm now confused myself.

Sword type items weight more, so your ASPD is harder to max. (Doesn't really makes such a huge diffrence though)
That's all.

Not really, on SinX Class at least, people goes for Gladius so that they can get triple attack.

Wait... That's only possible with a dagger? I thought with both.  ;o

Wtf's with this thread o_O

1. Item weight has absolutely nothing to do with your ASPD. There's a thing called weapon delay which affects all weapons and classes differently.
Let's use a Sbaer as an example: Saber is a 1 handed sword, and for an assasin a one handed sword has a delay of 65. While on the other hand a dagger has a delay of 55.
Now let's look at Saber again, but this time on a Lord Knight. 1 Handed sword has a delay of 50 when wielded by a knight class character. And a dagger has a delay of 50 when used by a knight class.

So while Saber gives lower ASPD to a Sinx, it gives the same ASPD to a Knight as a dagger gives.

However Daggers have pretty much the lowest delay on all classes after fists.

2. SinX's can't get triple attack, it's double atatck that they use. Triple attack/raging trifecta blow is the monk skill which many rogues/Stalkers copy.

Yes, but in the end It's the same, it's just how you want to call it.
The heavier the weapon, the slower you are.
Take nib & Gladius for example, with nib[0] you are much slower as with a glad[0], your ASPD might even go down with nib.

No.
Priests can use knuckle type weapons, knuckles = Light. However on a priest they have a delay of 200.
Versus a mace which has a delay of 60. This implies that knuckles are heavier then maces?

Or an LK with a Brionac which weights 300 versus axe[0] which weights 80. Brionac has shorter delay. So axe is heavier?

And actually nib and glad have the exact same delay when used on an LK. So they weight the same?

I could go on and on.

Just ignore what Pokket~ is saying completely, and look at Aozo's posts.

A very helpful table on aspd for different weapons can be found here, as well as other helpful graphs and such : http://irowiki.org/wiki/ASPD
This should help visualize whats been said, and make it alot easier to absorb.  :police:

/hmm
What I meant by triple attack (and lol I used wrong words for that matter) is the double attack+extra hit from the weapon on the left hand; when you have a dagger (DDP Gladius) on your right hand (and you want to equip it there because its easier to switch on that hand) you get the double attack from the dagger + the hit from the other weapon, whilst when having a sword (DDP saber) equipped on that hand and a dagger on the other one you will only get 2 hits. /ok
(Did any of this made sense? @_@)

Really strange. I have been asking this question many people in-game and they all said it was about the weapon weight...
Oh well, i guess it's about the delay then if they say so. @_@;

I learned a lot on this thread. o.o

So did I. /spin.
