YOu can find a map of smokies and yoyos if you go right from Prontera and then up once and then right again I believe. As for your problem not being able to get on RO perhaps give a bit more detail?

whenever i try to run the patcher, it loads up to a certain point, but then it stops, so i can't click 'start.' and whenever i try to run it without the patcher, it doesn't wanna connect to the server...
