Well, I have one, that's why I'm asking. I want to know should I keep it for myself or sell it now. Or wait  until the quest is over and then sell it.

you know what you should do? Put up a selling thread with the title "S> Hylozoist Egg" and see how many people offer and what the offers are, if you get an offer of 20m or higher, fucking sell it man xD 
(if I had one I would sell it for whatever the highest offer was, be it 2m or 10m or w/e, cause I mean.. whats the use in keeping it? .__. )
You can probably assume that the longer you wait the less the hype will be and therefore the less the worth of the egg. So the sooner the better IMO

I would say keep it and sell it later. The hype in the beginning, usually is people trying to get rid of them for a high price. Once later on, pets have run away and or died, or something or other, the egg becomes really rare and hard to find. Considering, this is a Halloween 2008 Event only egg. You will never, be able to get it again unless some random GM (and not on my watch ) decides to re-release it.

Hmm, I was thinking something like that Denia... So I guess I'll do that.
Can you imagine someone selling it next year for the Halloween.
Its like those Santa Suits. In the beginning they were 1m, then people got a lot of them, and the price dropped to 50k. And on Christmas 2007, you could sell it for 2m++. (If I got it right, you could get them in the Christmas event 2006??)

Even if it were re-released, it would not be wide spread, so either way, it's a rare and hard to get item, considering it is also a non-donatable item.

they came up as prizes from the Halloween quest, very rare though.

for the event itself its once per character. Its hard to do tho so I dunno how many times you'll be able to get through it o.o
