Can't get Photoshop made emblems to work

Has anyone made emblems on Photoshop that work successfully? I can never get one to appear in my guild emblem menu when I do. I'm obligated to use paint whenever I want to make them. Though paint works just fine, its just lame that I can't use Photoshop.

Are emblems by standard supposed to be 8 bit?

The pixel must be 24x24 pixel

      course you can use photoshop! : S

      just flatten the 24x24 image in photoshop,
      copy & paste into paint,
      fill transparent pixels with the ugly magenta,
      save and viola!
