Does any NPC actually sell them somewhere, or is there a way to make them like there is with GJ? I hunt Red Mushrooms but it's taking forever. XP

Someone had said the same about not being able to buy GJ at an NPC shop(and you can) ;D. I figured there might not be though...I looked everywhere I could find, but I came up short. Well thank you for taking the time to answer Secks. :D

Actually there is a way to make them. The Umbala quests.
First you need to do the language quest: http://healplz.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=101#101
And then you need to do the Shaman Part: http://irowiki.org/wiki/Ore_Downgrading
The Shaman part is annoying becuase you won't get access to the hut until you get the gem combination right (some think that different tiles require different gem sets. Or it may just be random. Just keep trying.)
Also, the guide I have for the Shaman quest here uses a specific tile and specific gems. So try that first, making sure you're on the correct tile. You can check your coords with /where .
If that doesn't work get a yellow gem stone and try different combination out of blue, red or yellow stones.

Anyways, this quest will allow you to break down ores or make them out of stuff like shells.
(I use to use the guide on Rocards, but I can't seem to find it there.)

Hmm I forget how that part works :/. I think I just brought the ingredients to the umbala person near the warp girl/karfa.
I know I did the quest somehow becuase I can understand them XD;.

Ok I found it...umbala 105, 164 as opposed to the umbala 68, 251 in the guide. Thank you for your help Nomaci.

i think the GJ vendor (wherever it was) is a jipp, even more then buying GJ for 180 zeny a pop, cause i think the vendor has it at 250 a pop. could be wrong though.

Haha i remember helping my friend do the quest,she said that she could enter that witches house and break down ores whenever she wants now.

She sent me some SS's but i dont know where they are xP

you follow the quest as Nomaci posted. here are screens for you to know where to go:






the combination of gems that i used was red and blue the first time, then i used red and red the second time, after givin the smile mask to the chief on the shaman's quest part
