It could be something to do with your sound. I remember a while back people would get problems because the sounds files would be corrupted.

Go to your RO folder and find the Setup Application open it. Find where it says 2D sound or 3D sound and turn it to off. Try and play the game and if it doesn't work post back here. Also what does it say when the blue screen pops up on your screen?

Only One other thing I can think of. Try getting a fan and placing it where it can blow into your computer. Your graphics card may be overheating. Also does it appear right as you start up RO? If this doesn't work look at my answer below or come back to me with an answer.

Best thing I can say is to try and contact one of your local computer repair shops and explain your problem to them. It'll cost some money but with age of your computer its not worth replacing unless the cost is too much to fix it. If all else fails try downloading RO again or reformat again.
