Mage/Wiz question

I would be willing to be that someone has already asked this question, but I'm gonna ask it anyways cuz I'm too lazy to look for the answer. What job lvl should you take a magician to? Should I change at 40? Take it to 50? or somewhere in between?

Depends on what you're turning it into and what skills you want from it in the next job?

I wouldn't bother going to 50 if I was planning on transcending it and had no reason to want any extra skills, but I'm someone who doesn't mind spamming Grape Juice.

if ur new to the game i suggest you go 50 >.< for mage is really easy to get to job 50 . Most likely you would use all the skill points and still have not enough XD... if u think u have good items and can trans fast den ^^ 40 would be ok. Cause to lvl all u really need is sw and sg... if your  going for woe all that as a wizard or sage pls go 50

but i think for beginner..it's worth it to get to job 50 since the journey is long

Transcendent characters take me several weeks, I've never made a trans in under a month (or bothered to, though that's not the point).
Please don't assume I'm part of that group who does stuff like that.  If I did, you'd probably see me selling characters (which I hate).

Generally, if it's a character I'm not going to use for WoE or PvP, I'll stop it at job 40/41(I think for Archer? I forget).
I'm not going to use the extra bolt skills anyway, so I'd never take a non-trans mage to 50.
It's just a waste of time, to me.
