yeah in exchange for your donation it will give you tickets u can cash in for little consumables and stuff at the npc inside behind the desk

Well, it's happened with a lot of things like that. Just because someone doesn't have the money to donate now doesn't mean they should be kept from it. And think of future players. If you can't play in it without donating right now, before it opens, no one after the opening would be able to play it. It's not exactly fair, but that's life, in or out of game.

I'm assuming it's a one-time deal. I can't imagine every single player having to raise and donate 500 million to just get into a dungeon. Though that would be one hell of a zeny-sink >>

The amount is donated, and then it is open for Everyone.
Be them new to the game, or old.
