Iron

Couldn't get a response in game about this question. Is Iron something that is sellable in vending, like steel or is it just best to npc it? If vendable, about how much do they sell for?

It is most certainly vendable!! Iron is used for forging, as well as smelting with coal to produce steel.

Its possible to get iron by buying iron ore from the pet shop and using mini furnaces on it but its a long, expensive and annoying process.

I usually see Iron being vended for around 300-500 zeny each.

Thing is, most forging smiths know to buy Iron Ore and make the Iron themselves. Hell, it was one of the first things I was told when I began forging. So it's a painfully slow market if you do vend.

I checked. Iron ore costs 50z and a mini furnace costs 150z.

I would rather pay a little extra than make all that iron myself piece by piece, so yeah I'll buy it from you if want :3

With discount lvl 10, Furnace costs 114, and the ore 38. That and Iron is the easiest thing to forge, and unlike other things is almost always successful (like 1 out 100 might break, if that) if you have Iron Tempering at lvl 5. So it's not bad as you think.

But Steph, if you need help getting more Iron, I could always help you forge some.
