Fast Response: Re-popping up control panel?

I kinda need to know this quick. My friend got all the stuff for aRO but when he tries to load the patch the control panel just keeps popping up like a beast. :x It wont go away. Anyone know why this happens, or how I can stop it?

That thing in the beginning. Like.. You know, it pops up once? And it asks about like the features of the game and stuff?

Edit: It asks like how you want to set the quality of the game and stuff.. its gray and rectangular? x_X

Make sure your friend is clicking the right icon, the setup and patch have similar ones.

Okay.. But this happened to my other friend, too. You click 'ok' and it just keeps popping up. x:

He said he is clicking it and the anthem patch opens up, but then the game pauses and the control panel pops up and it just keeps popping up when he clicks ok. D:

The control panel. Its like a long gray rectangular box that pops up only when you first play aro the first time. Its where you set like the quality of the game or whatever. I don't remember what it has exactly coz I didn't really read it the first time. xD;

And you click okay on that and it just keeps popping up? Weird.

Did your friend use the full installer?

My best guess is that the settings you selected are incompatible.  Try going lowest settings and graphics, with SoftwareGL selected.  If it still doesn't work, redownload and reinstall.

EDIT: Another problem I just though of is it might be if you use a voodoo card.  If you have one, going to a SoftwareGL instead of your card would be the only option.
