Need help patching sakray!

So i was told to patch my sakray so i did that and i got this error so i used the alternative sakray patch and i guess that didn't work.

I got this pop up. the title was: Fail to write file. and it sed Sakup.exe so i clicked ok and went back to the patch client and it sed: Failed to unpack 2008-03-05patchupsak.rgz file.

Oh, were you playing while trying to patch the sakray? If so, close all your clients when doing this.

Which operating system are you using? Windows XP/Vista?

No i wasnt playing while patching. I have Vista so that may be the prob.
It doesnt patch but i can run the game so thats the bad part

The most common fix for this is to close out of other programs when patching.  If you have more processor and bandwidth dedication, it works a lot better.


Also, run the patcher as an admin.

Well i did all that, for some reason i can still play...

Maybe, if it's active, turn off the User Account Control. Even when being an admin, it sometimes blocks write access to some folders.

Your Sakray is not up-to-date, but it's updated enough to be able to play (2008-03-05). Anyway, you should make sure that your Sakray's up-to-date.
To turn off the UAC, click on Start, then click once on your account avatar. After that, a Control Panel window should appear where you can change your account configuration. There should be a link to turn off the User Account Control. You need to restart your PC when doing this!

User account control can be more or less summed up as a 'a two year old child couldn't break this' tool.  It basically prevents any changes to certain files, and also requires permissions to do anything.  If you're somewhat comfortable around a computer, you probably don't need it.  I can see it being really helpful for people not so great with the computer, but just remember on how to turn it off when you need to.

It's your call on whether you want it on or not.

Well, basically the User Account Control should block programs from doing any harm to your system. It is advisable for people with no to little knowledge about PCs, Vista, the internet, etc., since you can just say, "Stop! I don't want you program to start!". I don't use it, though, since I need the write permissions to all my folders, and it's kinda annoying if you have to confirm everything.

Well thats cool, i mean i know quite abit about computers, and Vista is not one of my favourites.
Still patching xD dunno if it works.
And, i cant go on a site, but all my freinds can. the owner didnt block me or anything. help?

Also, your firewall/virus protection should tell you that it's blocking the site, and how to unblock it.  Otherwise it could be your ISP has it blocked.

Well the site is my freinds, and i've always been able to get on it, just that the past few months i couldn't get on it, so i asked my freinds and they said that its not down and they could get on it. so ever since then, i cant get on it. Except that one day, it was like 2 days ago a miracle happened and i found out that i could get on it and then next day it continued ._.

Should be somewhere under properties.  If you can't find it, post what web browser you're using.
