If people want privacy, they could always just, well, hide it.
Like birth dates, blank it out, gender, set it to null, or w/e.

People were figuring out the GM identities by going through post history and post times.

Now that sounds reasonable, but still, if GM's don't want to give out their
identities, they should be more careful about handing out information.
Moreover, can't they just block anyone who wants to view GM profiles?

This topic might be locked. As all others of similiar nature have been. I think forum software does allow Mod/Admin level users to be hidden from post logs as well as hide their time of posting or disable viewing of their profile.

Well, that's the second subject I posted that's going to be ignored then.
I hope GM-recruitment will have things loosened up around here, seeing topics
get virtually no gm-feedback and are completely ignored as of what I can tell.

Nope, no GM ever responds to anything

In any case, the forums originally came installed like this (in other words, this is the default setting). The reason we decided to keep it this was is not because we gave out our identities on the forum freely, but rather, certain players would monitor every post of a GM along with posts of the player. Analyzing their login, log out times, their post times, to even the way they posted in order to find out identities. There also were cases of players being followed into other threads, which was pretty borderline harassment. So all and all, was decided it was best to keep it this way.

With so many complaints, Talis wanted to try to create a type of "hack" for the forums so that you could decide if you want your profile shown or not. However, Talis has already been working on many, many, many different projects, but with so many on his plate, and the GMs (the rest of them) demanding more tools to be more efficient for the players, things like this, get placed on the back burner.

I have to say though, the only one I really see posting feedback is you around here, but I guess that's
because the others are too busy modding and handling things, am I right?

Anyway, I thank you for the feedback on both topics and for altering the punishment
guidelines accordingly.

That makes me abit angry, some people with nothing better to do than stalk people and casuse misschife spoil it for the rest of us like allways
