Also, we wanted to change our names. Its not to make people feel like they don't know the staff, but rather to protect our identities. We want to absolutely avoid people coming to our player characters and harassing us about staff related things. Due to the server split, there was quite some leaking regarding the aliases of the GMs, so we feel that a fresh start with new identities is the best solution.

I think this mistery about the identities of GMs have to have an end someday because transparency is essential in the staff.
And about Talis said, "people coming to our player characters and harassing us about staff related things", its common in all online games. I dont see motive to hide the real identity because of that.

An option is to use the /exall command. Sry if it seems silly but is a possibility to stop the harassment.
 

New identities can be used to prevent future harassment, not existent ones. Makes it easier, I guess.
