No? Even currently Tome has lv 2 Strip Shield only, but that is enough. Oh~ im so lazy to explain..

1st. Any Magical Scholary/Sage will definetely have IC. With that amount of dex you have, its almost 80% of successful rate for lv2 Strip Shield. Why bother to changed it to lv5? So that if could be 100%?
Even if you failed once, but within 4 strips, the shield will be eventually Stripped somehow. Unless they r Chemically Protected.

Second, if the Scholary/Sage is Battle-Sage mode, lv2 Strip Shield wont help much since you do not have enough dex. But the Crit-Bonus already plays well in that build.

80% success rate? Yespls. At level 2 Strip shield has a 9% success chance further increased by your DEX and decreased with enemy DEX. I'm guessing that at best with IC and against a low DEX class you'll increase your chances to 20-25% at MOST (This is with ideal circumstances, Low DEX, No FCP, Scholar fully buffed etc etc.). Even level 5 is a 15% success chance so that would bump it like 6%. Into the range of 30ish percent at max. And seriously, if you expect a scholar to land 4 strips on anyone you're mistaken. Scholars are a support class with not so good HP modifiers. With 40-50 VIT A Schoalr will have around 10-12k of HP. Which will get ou killed fast if you go into the midst of the battle. The strip is a last resort for a Scholar which is why I do think that it should be a bit higher. And seriously, even level 5 isn't a great success chance.
