Warmth DC - Illegal?
« on: February 20, 2008, 06:24:19 am »
Since i never heard anything about it:

I'd like to know if intentional disconnecting using Warmth Spam is allowed ? (In case of Mvping other Bosses then Valk for example)

I'm just curious because this happened to me some times and i'm wondering if it's allowed  :P

I think if a person is found to repeatedly do it and you have proof , some penalizing action will be taken. Lastly play with effects off and if your PC starts lagging , minimize and maximize the aro window once. I cant guarabtee that they will work but possibly offer a relief.

If it's MVP, it may just be fine since it's free for all? Not sure about this and if it were penalized, it'd be hard to prove if they're doing it on purpose or not. =\

As stated by the other threads about heat spam, /effects doesn't stop the lag ;/ It's the mass amount of packets that get sent and stuff that cause the lag, not the animation.

this has nothing to do with mvps being FFA -_-
it is about disconnecting and lagging people and thereby crashing their clients ... should be a rule offend in my eyes - 1st offend = temp ban, 2nd = perm ban
if there is no rule for this, people will enjoy disconnecting half prontera to get a good vending spot :police:

The problem with this would be that a lot of SGs, will lag out and DC when you lag out and DC as well and that it is not intentional as everyone might think.

Well, seems to me that's what he's talking about.

And like Denia said, when you d/c, he does too (most of the time).

One SG spamming heat won't crash Prontera unless they're doing it IN Prontera which isn't allowed anyway. ;x

That's why I said:
If it's MVP, it may just be fine since it's free for all? Not sure about this and if it were penalized, it'd be hard to prove if they're doing it on purpose or not. =\

and this could be done:

I think if a person is found to repeatedly do it and you have proof , some penalizing action will be taken.

And how would you know that it's intentional unless it's done many times by the exact same person and have documentation of each DC? I mean, they could always have back up because they're a new SG who just over heat stacks on accident. And it would need to not be an MVP.

MVPs are FFA, players have been known to IW others in, which sometimes causes DC. I do not see it as anything different in this case.

Oh well Valkyrie is meh . Ruthless play , dishonourable play and play resulting into large amounts of zeny by the use of a glitch =\
I wonder how many of the valkyrie gears were obtained by killing valkyrie from a non SG character. 0 I bet lol.
Though I rarely see SGs killing bosses other then Valk.

I believe back in the days of Vandalize and MotE, Valkyrie was killed by other methods and not by SGs multiple times to farm for her armors and manteaus.

I was part of those teams . We had Lao who had claimed that he had killed her with a champ. Orguss who had made a vandalz team , Think they did it a few times (8-10). A few times done by seigi too. Though it took almost 30mins - 1 hr to kill her. In fact Sanjino had posted a video which showed that it took them 2 hours with a 5 man team. But that was way back when Odins was newly patched on to aRO. Mid bossy shouldve kept this method a secret lol ;-;

Sigh If only valk was to be killed by only that way.
