question on guards?

Kinda random but are guards supposed to give 2 def or 3?
I noticed when you equip a guard it only gives you 2 def though the item description says it should be 3. So is the description wrong or is the item wrong?

Guard gives 3 def [without refining] i dunno wats wrong with urs

I had someone else try it and they only got 2 def from it too. Maybe mine is glitching for some reason.
Or maybe it's cause it's on my priest I don't know.

Tested it on my high priest, black smith, and thief my the guard only gives 2 def. I wonder how I got that glitch.
Maybe I'll try reinstalling RO later to see if that fixes it.

Each defence from equipment gives 2/3 of a defence point no 1.

Refinement as well works this way.

Then it works that way with just the guards. I checked the rest of my stuff and it's fine.
