AnesisRO Forum Posting Rules

Please obey the rules so we can keep the forums fun and readable for everyone. Thank you.

1. Posting Guidelines:

  • First and foremost, all of the AnesisRO Game rules are to be followed, where applicable, when posting on the forums. These rules are listed at http://www.anesisro.com/index.php?p=rules and are also posted on the forums in the rules section for your convenience, here: http://www.anesisro.com/forums/index.php/topic,2.0.html.
This includes, primarily, the Game Relations, Player Relations, and Game Master Relations sections. Make sure that you understand all of these rules and follow them.
  • Do not flame. Flaming or harassing other players on the forums is absolutely against the rules. Minor offenses will be given warnings, but further offenses will result in temp or possibly permanent bans. Ranter's has a bit of leeway in this rule, as some flaming is almost expected when you enter this section. However, people who posts excessive flames, even in Ranter's, will be given warnings, and possibly even temp bans or permanent bans if things go too far.
  • Do not disrespect the staff, other players, the server, and other servers or their staffs. This includes ANY other Ragnarok Online server. We do not support fostering hatred between other servers. Disrespect will result in harsh punishments from warnings for small misdemeanors to permanent bans for blatant disregard of respect. This also applies heavily to the previous incarnation of this server. Disrespect to those who made all of this possible will be treated exactly as disrespect to our own staff.
  • Do not create a forum account with an inappropriate name. To see what's inappropriate, check the next bullet point.
  • Do not post inappropriate material. Threads, posts, discussions, images, or links which are found to be inappropriate in nature will be deleted without warning. Minor offenses will result in warnings or temp bans, but repeat offenses or major offenses will produce permanent bans. Inappropriate material includes, but is not limited to the following text or images:
    • Gore, Hentai and Ecchi images, Pornography, disturbing images or posts, racism, and excessive violence.
    • Racial/Ethnic Hatred, Racial/Ethnic Slurs, Symbols of Racial/Ethnic hatred, or National Slurs/Hatred. This also includes negatively portraying religion and creeds, along with all religious figures.
    • Inappropriate language, attempts to bypass the forum language filter, or any questionable material
    • Sexually Explicit or Violent Acts or Extremely Violent Acts.
    • Real Life Threats.
    • Insults of personal sexual preference pertaining to the original poster or another player.
    • Distribution of any personal real-life information.
    • Obscene or vulgar discussions. (bodily functions/human anatomy that are considered obscene or vulgar or pornographic in nature)
    • Harassment of any form. Insultingly referring to players, Anesis Staff Members, other server staff members, or any groups of people.
    • Ban Evasion: This includes posting on another forum account, whether it is of the banned player, on a friend's account, or having someone post on the banned player's behalf.
  • Do not use the forums to advertise. This is not an advertising site. Anyone who is found to be using the forums specifically to advertise for any other site or product will be banned without notice. This does not apply to simple word-of-mouth conversation, nor does it apply to sites which are specifically AnesisRO or Ragnarok Online related, so long as they do not break other site rules.
  • Do not revive old topics. If an old topic has not been posted in recently, it is because the thread has died. If you wish to get more information about a topic of discussion, first see if there are any live threads on the subject, and, if not, create a new thread. If you want to get specific information about something discussed in a dead thread you can also link to that thread in the new thread you have created, or in the newer thread. A thread is considered dead if it has not been posted in for a month or longer.
  • Do not "Bump" topics. This rule does not apply to the merchant and guild sections of the forums. Do not attempt to keep topics alive by filling them with fluff posts. Contribute to the topic, or simply let it run its course. If nobody is posting, the topic has clearly lost interest.
  • Do not abuse the "Report to Moderator" button. The "Report to Moderator" function is intended for reporting posts which break the rules; it is not to be used for attempting to get the attention of moderators, or for asking questions. Threads will be read by moderators and questions will be answered when it is appropriate for them. Players who abuse the the reporting function will be warned, further attempts will result in temp and, eventually, permanent bans.
  • Each user is limited to ONE forum account. If any staff member believes that an individual is using multiple personal forum accounts, for any reason whatsoever, all duplicate forum accounts from that IP will be immediately banned, leaving only the account with the highest post count. Using an additional forum account to break any of AnesisRO's rules will result in ALL accounts using that IP to be immediately treated as though they had broken those same rules. Multiple incidents of having duplicate forum accounts may also result in a full ban. This does not apply to multiple users with the same IP with their own accounts, only to individual players using multiple accounts. This does not apply to in-game accounts in any way, you may have as many game accounts and characters as you choose.
  • Do not ignore users and then flaunt that you have ignored those players to the rest of the forum. It is unnecessary, and if taken too far, will be considered as harassment.
  • Do not attempt to cheat the system! Attempting to create loopholes or trying to get around existing rules by cheating the system is both harmful to the server and disrespectful to the staff. It will not be tolerated. Individuals who attempt to fool the system or staff will be banned without warning.
  • Do not post rapidly flashing imagery. The forums should be safe for all users, and that includes people with epilepsy, or any other disorder which can be triggered by observing such imagery. This rule also includes putting flashing imagery in your signature or avatar.
  • Do not multi-post. Multi-posting is when someone makes more than one consecutive post (meaning there are no posts by other people between each post). If you were the last person to post in a topic, and you wish to say something more, please use the "modify" button to edit your last post. Minor offenses will have their multi-posts merged, and be given a warning not to multi-post. Repeat offenses will see the additional posts deleted instead of merged. In extreme cases, temp bans may be issued. This rule does not apply to the merchant section of the forums, and we offer a bit of leeway on this rule to our artists in the Artist's Corner of the forum. As long as they aren't bumping their topic constantly, artists can multi-post occasionally when they have new things to show off. Artists can also multi-post a bit when first creating their topic if they feel they may need the room for everything they want to include in their thread.
  • Do not thread spam. Thread spam is where a player posts the same (or very similar) thread in more than one section of the forums (or even in the same section). You are allowed to create a thread and one promotion thread about that thread in another section for advertising purposes. Anything more than that will qualify as thread spam, and will result in all extra copies of the thread being deleted, and a warning to be issued. Continued breaking of this rule may result in temp or permanent bans.
  • Do not flood sections of the forums with posts. Flooding is when a user rapidly spams posts in nearly every single thread on the first page of a forum section. If all the posts are actually constructive and on-topic, it isn't really spam, nor was it probably rapid, and thus it most likely will not get moderated. However, if a user is found to have flooded a section, their most recent post or posts in each topic may be deleted, and a warning will be issued. Repeat offenses, or extreme cases (flooding multiple sections at once), may result in temp bans or even permanent bans.

2. Signature Guidelines:

  • 1. Signatures are limited to being a maximum 190 Pixels in height on 1024x768 resolution. Signatures that exceed the limit will be removed. Continually making oversized signatures will result in a temp ban.
  • 2. The content of a signature must adhere to the Forum Posting Rules.

These rules are subject to change at any time without notice.
We reserve the right to evaluate each incident on a case by case basis. The action we take may be more lenient or more severe than those listed under each category.

Remember the golden rule of posting:

If you're not sure that your post is within the rules, don't post it.

Continued breaking of any forum rules will result in a a full forum ban or in-game account suspension or ban depending on the severity.
