Crit Style Gunslinger
« on: March 10, 2015, 02:20:28 pm »
I haven't tried this yet and i was wondering if a Gunslinger can crit lock monsters, i noticed the rifles give some crit the highest being the lever action at 50 so i'd like to know if its worth the trouble since using pistols alone is a bit fun but has been done over and over, so far the other guns seem to be overlooked like the grenade launcher, shotgun and rifle so i'd like some input on this subject before i decide to invest in this gun ^_^

In terms of crit-locking monsters, anyone with 190 ASPD and high enough critical rate will be able to do so.

I'm a novice at Gunslingers, but from what I know, pistols have the most utility as it has burst damage, spammability, mobbing capability (somewhat), and disabling, along with chain action to further boost damage and having the most variety with the most card slots.
That said, I have seen shotguns used for PvM as it has better mob killing capabilities and Gatling guns are used for low budget high attack speed builds.  Rifles are less often used because any skill used by rifles are also usable by pistols, and Gryphon and other (relatively) obtainable cards kind of dilutes the usefulness of rifles.  However, rifles are much easier to build up to high critical rates regardless.  And finally, grenade launcher can only attack with grenades, which is suitable for specific situations only, and that's why you don't see it that much.

yeah i have a grenade launcher, it does tons of damage and pistols are flexable, i use both and tried shotgun but didn't like it i had a rifle when i started out but never tried a crit build it was epic when tracking auto casts the dmg was nice too.
i'll try to test out some builds and see how it goes.

The cast time is set and can't be reduced. Not even with that or bragi. Only the BG weapon can reduce the cast time

If that is the case, then the skill description is wrong.

You must have a Handgun or Rifle equipped.
By taking a little extra time to track the target, you can guarantee a very powerful single shot. Tracking has a fixed cast time which is not affected by DEX, skills or effects and is interruptible. There is no aftercast delay. The range of Tracking is fixed at 10 cells, and is not increased by Snake's Eye. Damage is (200+100*SkillLV)%.

tried it also with other servers.... and desription is the same...and it also works... in the description it is not mentioned that it is not affected by cast reduction cards...so its safe to say the description is correct

Guts is right I tried it and it does work, you can push the cast time down to under one second.

the skill is so good for 2 reasons
1. atack power: its as strong as full buster (1,300%) (tracking 1,200%),(rapid shot 1,000%)
2. doesn't use too many bullets like full buster and rapid shot

It would be soooo epic if Vesper Optics had an effect that lets you use tracking with no cast time i think that would at least give gunners something more to look forward to.

Warm wind would be nice but it could be too much.
