Well I've joined the cause and fought about three battles now and let me just say every time REKENBER has come out on top even though pax had more actual players than we did, most i  usually see when i fight is 3 rek at most :'D GO RED!!!!!!

The Rekenber Corporation is an organization originating in the Schwarzvald Republic with small operations in Rune-Midgart and Arunafeltz. While the company attempts to keep a respectable image as a community helper, it has been subject of numerous gruesome rumors, from linking them to the disappereance of people from the Lighthalzen slums for human experiementation to even seeking world domination.

Basically, do quests around/involving Lighthalzen and you'll learn a lot of the backstory. Also things like the Kiel quest, and some of the airship parts as well - Rek ties into probably about half of RO's storyline quests.

I hope animus doesn't go too near the original storyline though. There's a chance that newer episodes could continue the story of Rekenber's research and intentions.

It's been heavily implied (if not directly stated?) that a third party is involved in the Pax Imperia vs. Rekenber affair, so maybe the story will start to turn towards that?  I'm thinking we probably won't tamper with or mess up the actual RO storyline too much if that's where the focus gradually shifts.
