3rd class question

Is there a way to use the 3rd class sprites without getting the sprite/cursor error?

Can you please elaborate? When I modify my data.ini file for the sprite, my client crashes.  :(

Umm, I used kurip's guide for installing 3rd class sprites and I've never had an issue.
What are you writing in data.ini?

which instructions are you following to get the 3rd class sprites? you may or may not need to edit the grf file to better suit our server

Same here. I did the fourth spoiler. Download the class specific file and then change the file to this:

[data]
0=AB.grf
1=abdata.grf
2=rdata.grf
3=sdata.grf

Aren't you missing data.grf?
Also, I don't think sdata is relevant anymore

I have the data.grf file. Basically if my data.ini doesn't look like this:

0=abdata.grf
1=rdata.grf
2=data.grf
3=sdata.grf

My game wont start.

you definitely needed a 4=data.grf in there, since that is the foundation of all the data files.  All other files are mods based on server specific things.
rdata being renewal and abdata being for aRO
sdata is from old old days
