How well does Auto Guard work with mobbing?

I'm planning to buy a Maya Purple Valk shield after I save up enough to buy a Kaho. I'm just wondering how well a Maya Purple's Autoguard work with mobs? Basically every 1/5 hit will be blocked?

I just want to know the goods and bads with mobbing with a AutoGuard. Im doing this on my Champion. Using steel body too. Future references and curious too. Thank you very much.

Maya purple is a card that allows you to see cloaked enemies, probably the best and most expensive card you could hope to get in game.

Maya card is the card you are talking about. No it will not work well with mobbing because there is a delay after guarding. It dosent allow you to move, so there is absolutely no point in mobbing big with Auto guard on.

I thought we didn't even have the purple card at all. I guess you can still hope for it.

Anyway yeah autoguard sucks when mobbing.. It will lock you in position and if I remember it will even prevent you from casting other spells (such as heal) although I'm not sure I remember that correctly.

If I'm wrong about that then I guess you could swap the shield in when tanking


Oh wait you said champ.. yeah I guess you have autocasting heals then anyway.
Consider using it as a swap in I guess.

Why do you need so much gear on your steel body champ btw?
I've noticed you're going to extremes when gearing yours

I'm too lazy to even change builds when I steel body mob. I use 1 vit and sometimes not even deviling. It works just fine. I can mob entire maps with that (although I don't out of consideration for others).

Its not that Im using the shield to mob but I was thinking how well it can be used to mob. Im saving up for equips to woe and all since my guild is a future trans woe guild.

So as long as Im autocasting, it'll be okay. Thanks for the information! xD Although the delay does worry me. I guess Ill use autoguard when Im about to steel body.

Well I kind of kill my monsters using autocast so that be fine.

its not good for mobbing, only if youre tanking while standing still
it does not interrupt other skills from being casted though

why maya valk only reason i see gettin valk is for easy changing with valk toad?
All you need is a maya shield dont waste ur money on a maya valk

Auto guard is awful for autocast. You have to get hit for pirate dagger to reflect damage allowing you to autocast. Since auto guard prevents some of the damage you would take, your skills will cast less. So it'll take longer to kill the mobs, and steel body may wear off on you. It's not bad if you're mobbing for someone else, but even then it's still not worth the cost. I'd really recommend spending that money on a GTB instead.

The only time you should use Auto Guard on a SB champ is to tank things that spiral pierce, and not too many of them. Mobbing a bunch of weak things to autoguard 20 damage isn't worth the delays. But if your mobbing stuff that is pretty painful then go for it, just don't get too many of them. If your really good you can mob and auto guard at the last second and SB right after for more tankiness. Still don't recommend it for weak mobs though. That's something I would do with SM/Valk or other.

I don't remember if it does. Pretty sure it won't since assumptio doesn't heal through gtb with RoR autocast. But you can do kaahi + gtb which is a million times better.

You don't have to gj just to keep the healing going, I usually let my sp drop to nothing and pot 1 gj whenever I need a 1400 heal.
