Non-Mvp bow for pvm.
« on: February 27, 2012, 01:31:30 pm »
What bows would be good for pvm that aren't the usual mvp carded composite bows?
I was thinking Rudra, but that kind of limits me to undead and shadow enemies.

burning bow and the equivalent for the other elements are nice
also generic high atk bows if you can find one/farm one

I'm just looking through all the bows in rms

Unless it's changed since I had my rudra you can use any elemental or neutral arrows you wish.

Rudra, by itself, is pretty powerful. It also let you use neutral element arrows with high atk values, such as oridecon, and deal high holy damage.

Plus, you get a bunch of spells with it.

-Hextor (LK)        -Basaran (Scolar)      -Aegisfield (paladin)    -Tsuruchi Keiji (ninnin)  -Charle Atlas (SN)

My main is one of these, randomly.

Can anyone confirm or deny what random said about being able to use any elemental arrow with a rudra? Because if that works it would save me the trouble of finding all of the other elemental bows, since burning bow is the only one I ever see anymore.

Rudra only make you deal holy damage when you have a neutral (or already holy) arrow. Using a fire arrow will make you deal fire damage.

That's a weird question coming from you, I though you already knew that archer classes had access to any elements with their arrows.

Theyre not pointless if you use an OAB + Steel arrow for the range buff.

Everything else yeah its pointless.

Rudra only make you deal holy damage when you have a neutral (or already holy) arrow. Using a fire arrow will make you deal fire damage.

I remember testing that way back in anthem and I got weird results.. like every third or fifth arrow or so did holy and most arrows were still neutral. Not sure how it works after years of patching/renewal and the change of server software to eAthena. But the holy element on the bow didn't make any real difference for me back then. Neutral arrows were still (mostly) neutral.

I don't have a rudra to test with now (I sacrificed it to make an arty)

I still bet it's still the same as how Evilness described it anyways. (Tested too in eA)
