MirAI config problem
« on: January 11, 2012, 12:46:44 am »
Oddly enough my problem isn't with the program itself but the configuration panel. What I want to do is set my homunclus to attack until 40% of it's hp, evade at around 20%, and make it attack certain monsters; problem being when I change these values from the config default and save it doesn't work in-game. I have tried re-logging and exiting animus completely, as well as vaporizing my homunclus and calling it back. I looked at the config.lua in Notepad and it still has all the config defaults so it's as if the control panel isn't changing anything in the config file. I have enough know how to vaguely understand the config file, but I don't feel secure enough to tinker with it on my own. Any help would be appreciated.

I've already switched to the customized AI, if that's what you mean.

What kind of troubles are you having?

1) Check /hoai and Alt-T
2) Remember to relog every time you change something in MirAI.
3) Make you enter in monster's ID and name, as well as how you want your homun to react (behaviour/skill/level)

also, might not be the case, but make sure the content of MirAI is in your aRO folder (User_AI folder)

I think you need to be logged out when you're doing the changes. In other words Don't change and then relog.
Log out first then do the changes.
It may not be needed to do it this way but it's always a good idea to make sure no program is using the files you want to write to (meaning the aRO client in this case).

Also make sure the control panel is in the proper folder.

I think the changes you are trying to make should work but I know that some things are broken in mirAI.
For instance I had to use another AI to get my vanil to shoot spells from a distance rather than rushing up to melee range before casting.

The monster priority should work if you use the proper monster IDs from ratemyserver.net (atleast it worked for me).

I did all of those.

I've tried changing the program without animus running and when I went back in my homunclous acted using the old settings instead of the new ones I tried to place. The control panel is in the correct folder.

the main problem is when I try and make changes to the AI using the control panel it keeps the default Mir settings. I guess I mean it does this:
Spoiler for what it does:
when I want it to do this:
Spoiler for what it should do:
I highlighted the address, but I'm fairly certain it's in the correct folder.

Maybe one of these two things?
- Run as admin.
- Check if config.lua is on read only mode.

Seems to me the config itself didn't update no matter how you tinkered with the exe itself. Sorry if I'm wrong though. /sry

Yea, the config updating was my problem. Don't be sorry, any help is appreciated, besides you fixed my problem. All I needed to do was run as admin...
