Just how is this working out?
« on: December 21, 2011, 08:48:16 pm »
Quote
Major Offenses

such as:
- Continued Killstealing/Looting/MPK/Illegal Monster Spawning (after 4th offense)
- Continued Harassment/False Advertisement/Illegal Warping (after 3rd offense)
- Botting
- GM Impersonation & severe GM Disrespect
- Other Server Advertisement
- Interserver Trading & RMT (Real Money Trading)
- Divulging GM Identity
- Scamming
- Ad Frauding
- Continued Forum Ban Evasion
- Exploiting Bugs

1st offense = Permanent ban on all accounts belonging to the IP registered with the offender.

If you excessively break our rules, either in game or via forums, you may be IP banned from the server completely.  We have right to refuse service to any player that should repeatedly break our rules and not have any regard for the server's policies.  Should a player be refused service, the player in question will not be allowed back on this server.  In order to prevent the offender from coming back to the server, any accounts used post IP ban, will be confiscated from the rightful owner of said account.

I have yet to see it done.

Why give Sakura a perma ban anyway? Assuming that is who you're talking about.

Every time he comes back, he throws bank at the "s e r v e r".

Doesn't hurt my feelings to keep Sakura around. I just wish hope the money goes back into the server.

Off topic; Think I'm going to get 4 PS3's, 2 Laptops, and a Tablet for Christmas. Oh and 6 yrs pre-paid of Star Wars.

Actually, I was just simply asking how the rule works according to the GMs, I'm not pointing names here; Sakura is just an example that's current, him being here or not is indifferent to me.
Because according to the words itself, it implies that I can break any one of the major offense rules once, and get an IP ban for that account. So I'll just create another account and break another rule for another IP-account ban. Just how much is "excessive"? Once? Twice? Five times?
And by the rules, I can still be playing after getting my 20th IP-account banned, because it does not say "you will be IP banned from the server completely" but "you may be IP banned from the server completely" instead.

Just want some GM input here.

"Excessive" depends on the situation. Besides, it happens, just not a lot lately, and it's not made public (you guys really need to learn that bans are not a public thing to discuss). I've done it to a few people a few years back who kept ad frauding and scamming with like 10 or 20 accounts everytime they came back. THAT is excessive. Other than that, IP bans are only done on the forums.

The whole Sakura QQ is annoying, really. Just report him if he's going on with his shittalk about the server, and he will be banned again immediately, he knows that. If he just keeps going to PvP, then why not just ignore him? He has been banned 2 times now, I don't consider that as excessive yet.

Also, what is the point of making new accounts if all of your previous items and accounts are gone forever? I mean, you can create a new novice account, and maybe ask a friend to give you gear, but that's all. Or you can donate all of the gears. I'm really indifferent to that, I mean donations are good for the server, and it's your personal choice to donate, but nobody's forcing you to.

Also, why must I always read idiot posts in such topics?

Because you get banned when you're more direct with that you say.

So you say it in a cryptic fashion, but the point is still made. You of all people should know the difference.

Call it stupid all you want, but there is always at the least a single shred of truth to it.

No, Valash, you're just an idiot who keeps ranting about the server whenever it comes to money. Nobody has ever been banned for voicing his opinion in an adequate manner yet, the people who were banned for shittalking were exactly doing that - being complete idiots, breaking the rules of being inappropriate, disrespectful and harassing. These guys, including you, don't know what's going on, they just "assume things", and stir up the rest of the mob with that.

Besides, some topics are better talked about in private, like PMs and so on, and not in public. But you guys don't understand that.

EDIT: You keep saying people are banned because of that, who was banned for such a thing yet?

Ever wonder why I take so many pot shots towards server money? Course you do.

But smear it however you want, by insulting me personally. It doesn't bother me any.

Why? Because you probably donated at some point, and assumed you'd get certain privileges by doing so, but you didn't, so that caused you to complain every single time you get a chance about the server money. What is your point? Do you want the server to receive zero money? If you want it to die, then please, leave, you know where's the door, we don't need people who think like that.

Really, this way of gossipping is the worst. New players who don't know anything about the "inner politics" of the server see posts like yours, and immediately believe you, because you guys are the wise veteran players with lots of posts, you surely know what's going on here! And the GMs are god-like beings, you cannot talk to them, and they're somehow scary anyway. And that causes more shittalkers on the forums, and people who leave the server.

Seriously, grow up, Valash.

I know this has gone off-topic, and I apologize for that, I just wanted to make my point clear. Cheers.

You're just as much of a broken record as I am. It's the same defense, to the same legitimate line of commentary. I don't want or need any special treatment from anyone, especially the GM's. I'm just annoyed when things like the 'we are in hot water, so donate to keep us afloat!' actions come about. When we should have been vastly secure, however funds aren't spent wisely. So who did that fall on? Us.

I put crap like that out there, so hopefully at the least, the money that does get provided towards this server gets spent wisely towards the service being provided. How is that in any way shape or form, stupid? Because I actually vocalize the concern? Sure, it's in a pot shot manner, but if that's what it takes to get a reaction, than so be it.

If by vocalizing those concerns in whatever manner translates into me hoping the server dies, than you are sadly mistaken. It's quite the opposite. As previously mentioned, I'm just hoping funds get spent wisely. As opposed to gone faster than gained, and then we're in hot water again. Which results in us having to deal with a bail out again. That looks far worse on the server than anything I could ever do or say, I guarantee you that.

I'm in no way ungrateful towards the server either, I thoroughly enjoy it here. I've clearly been here through the best of times, and the worst of times. So if loyalty is in question, that's just plain silly. Bottom line is, I just hope this server lasts another 5+ years so that others can have the opportunity to experience the game in the fashion that I have or better.

So again, twist it however you want. Cheers~

Edit: I still stand by my reasoning concerning Sakura. That creature doesn't really bother me, and generates revenue for the server. If they keep risking all their items to be banned, that's on them. If as Fidel put it, and they want to keep coming back fully geared within a day or two. Who cares. Aside from using the cool down hack repeatedly, I don't think Sakura has done anything so major that would warrant a permanent ban until the end of time.

I have no issue with sakura as bad, but you have to admit, Modifying the client to gain an advantage is worthy of a perma ban, eh.

Im much more concerned with Chaterina. Comes back after every ban and has like, 1b in a month. Doesnt that shoot redflags :(, especially after being B& for Real world trading?

No, Valash, you're just an idiot

I lol'd.

Sorry Val, but this was funny >:
