Download issues! PLEASE help
« on: November 05, 2011, 04:38:06 pm »
I'm starting over again (I had a drop party for my gears, but college, I need RO!), and I downloaded the file now five times, and each time it tells me that the "setup file is corrupted" and to try downloading again.

that's assuming I can get it to open at all.
I'm running Windows Vista (I know) and it's fully updated to my knowledge.
When I try to open it, it usually crashes Windows Explorer, and my computer lags like hell.

Then either it opens and says "setup file's corrupt, download again" or something of the sort.

Am I doing something wrong? Is there an alternative download link I can try?

Thanks!

I'm updating hoping someone can share insight.

I have tried it now 7 times. Every time either it says "corrupt" or it won't open at all and crashes windows explorer. Thinking it was a problem on my end, I ran scans, updated AVG, went in and made it allow any access back and forth from AnimusRO, and still, nothing.

I am at a university that has filtered internet--does the initial set-up require an internet connection? My only thought is that while I'm trying to open the .exe setup file it's being denied access to the internet by the web filter (it has some really random crap on the web-filter, you honestly never know).

I am downloading it again. Is there a mirror location from which I can download or?

Anyone?

Can you try downloading it with a download manager, and see if that solves the problem ?

If that won't help I have some other ideas in mind to fix it. But a download manager will likely solve the issue. The setup itself does not require any form of internet connection but it can freeze up and take some time to extract the data. If the installer becomes unresponsive, don't get impatient and close it ! Just give it some time and it should do it's job.

thanks, I'll try that. Any suggested download managers before I just guess and grab one?

Seems to be working now. I just left it installing, hopefully when I get back it was successful!
