IRC Guide

Since we've had a few questions about how to use IRC, here's a handy guide!
If you have any questions, please ask them and I'll put the answers in this guide as I am able!

1.  Go to http://www.mirc.com/ and click "Download IRC."
2.  Download and install the program.
3.  When you run the program, a "Connect to Server" box will pop up.  DO NOT enter your real name in "Full name"!  Enter the information asked for and click "connect."
4.  Type /server irc.dairc.net - this will connect you to the server that our channel is on.
5.  If this is your first time using this server, type /msg nickserv register (password) (email address) without the parenthesis.  This will register your nickname with the server so that only you can use it.
6.  Type /join #aro - this will get you into the AnesisRO channel!  Begin chatting!
7.  Either type /quit or click the "x" button in the upper right-hand corner to quit chatting.

Other useful information:

Type /nick (newnicknamehere) without the parenthesis to change your nickname.

If you're having trouble connecting:
Try typing /server irc.frantech.ca:6667
-OR- /server irc.deltaanime.net:6667

Shane - yes, it would be the same.  Ressy - it is Internet Relay Chat.

Are you asking where *I* "popped out from"?

    Oh snap, a GM who actually knows how to use IRC!  I remember when Talis let the channel's registration drop and Denia came in to re-register it, we basically had to teach her everything.

    Also protip:  If you don't want to download anything, go to http://chat.deltaanime.net/ , enter the name you want to use and the channel (#anthemro), and click Chat Now.

    The following link can be used to connect automatically after downloading an IRC client and setting it up:
