Is there anyway to modify the data files so as to remove monster speech ?

Is it legal to edit monster speech ? IF yes - Can anyone tell how it can be done?
Glast maps Monster speech spam can be really annoying.

You can edit it by going inside your .grf and editing the monstertalktable.txt or something like that. As for its "legality", I'm not sure about that but I don't see anything wrong with it at the top of my head.

Or you could turn off your Public Log. The one at the top when you edit your chat dialogue box. The only caveat of it is it's on the same channel as the main chat so you won't see that as well. You could alway make a separate tab for it. Or better yet, get off the map heh.

I would also like to know... becuse even tho i DO have a separate tab for Main it still gets full of monster speech from OTHER maps too. Lotsa monsters talk...

ID like to have access to public chat and main. That is the only reason I am trying alternate ways. It would be nice if the staff remove monster speech from Prison stuff. No one I know likes that spam anyway. It would cut down some traffic too since all those text packets must use up some bandwidth.

I'm guessing if you edit it, say you delete it, You'll still see the blank lines.
Best thing would be to either lessen/remove the chance of them "talking" or move the monster talk to another channel.

Removing the whole lines of code would probably be better than just making the text in them blank.

Also: what the hell? We don't get any of those lines except the 'attack' ones. xD

Meh the staff should remove them really. I havent found one person who like those lines. There is a good reason why official servers dont have those.

I tried deleting some monster dialogue and it appears to work. I specifically left the one from Injustices as control. I'm about 80% sure of this though since I'm not quite letting them hit me.

Are you talking about /notalkmessage? It appears to disable more than just the monster dialogue, if at all.

It disables Main chat and stuff what people say too.
Besides the spammed text sometimes blocks the view .
