I've been away from RO for a few years now, but it's like drugs, you're always recovering, never cured.  So now I'm here!

Help a newbie get oriented?

- Where do people go to level/have fun? I have a handle on solo leveling, but who wants to do that to 99?
- Is there generally a lot of partying going on? Everyone's probably 99 by now =/
- Are there any decently active pvm guilds around?

Any answers or just "hello"s are welcome! I'm looking forward to a fun stay! <3

The place to lvl up with alot of people if i remember correctly is prison which most people will party up and power lvl at low lvls.

There will be people out there that love to party and others that solo everything it just takes a bit to find people that like to party and create a great friendship!

Like SK said a lot of people try leveling at Glast Heim Prison. It's a KS map so you should try looking for a party where everyone hangs out and then branch out from there to the less populated areas on the map. Most people here like solo leveling but if parties are what you're looking for I know there are a few social guilds that would be happy to just have fun playing the game with you! For fun, there is Poring Wars, Battle Grounds (not recommended for new players), and WoE (which has 2 versions that can be found under beginners guide or in the wiki)

Partying has improved, but I don't know the details on how often you'll find 1

Noted! In my time playing RO, guilds have mostly been WoE centered and those that weren't tended to be quite inactive. I'm basically just looking for company, people to talk to and go do fun things with.  I can level solo quite well if need be, and pvp aspects have never been my thing. Here's hoping one of those social ones will want me.
