Pet Hunger
« on: May 14, 2011, 12:09:05 pm »
Some of my pets get hungry quickly while some others are quite slow, how is is determined anyway? by level? or is it just random?

By level. That's why you have it.

I created like 4 new accounts just to check on those feeding frequency, seems that level do play role in increasing the intimacy.

Usually, when we crack open an egg, the monster will be shy.
For monster below level 60, shy ---turns----> neutral on the first feed.
For monster above level 60, shy ---turns----> shy on the first feed. (I'm still checking on how many feed required to grow neutral)

Intimacy    Characteristics
Classification    Point Range
Very shy    Less than 100    Ready to abandon its owner
Shy    100–249    Uses unhappy emotes such as /pif and /wah
Neutral    250–749    Uses friendly emotes such as /no1 and /ok
Cordial    750–909    Uses affectionate emotes such as /lv and /kis
Loyal    910–1000    Talks often and uses affectionate emotes

A pet is given a random number of intimacy points between 250–399 when it's first hatched. The higher level the pet is, the less intimacy it will begin with. Feeding a pet increases its intimacy relative to its level and hunger; higher level pets get less intimacy per feeding, and vice versa. A pet's hunger level is classified using the following terms: 'very hungry', 'hungry', 'neutral', 'satisfied', and 'stuffed'.

A pet’s intimacy decreases by 15 points when its owner dies. Intimacy doesn't decrease when a pet is returned to its egg.

this is as far as i know pretty accurate, seems to hold true for all the pets i've had XD *collects pets*

itimacy does drop if you return to egg up to certain amount, try it on the first feed it turn loyal, then turn to egg, and it becomes cordial...

Shy: Stuffed /hmm , Satisfied (barely any emoticons), Neutral /... , Hungry /hmm

I think this my vary on different pets...

Feylins example is from the IROwiki. I've seen a ton of different points systems while looking for this exact thing... they all say diff stuff -.-; so its hard to tell which server the pet guides are from to even make a comparison sometimes. :/

and pet level does have everything to do with it. The special pets and high level pets seem to do diff things than lower level ones

i will have to take a closer look at my zealotus, but she is loyal and i know she uses the /kis and /lv emotes pretty often...maybe I'll go catch another one and keep track from the beginning....i have a few other pets i haven't touched yet that i could keep track of....

like Slurpy said my info is from irowiki and i  have seen a bunch of different ones in other places..but that one seems to be the most accurate as far as i can tell

If you guys notice, what your pet says on your screen might not be the same that appear on another client, I tried multi clienting and on each client, they say different things... I have quite a bunch loyal pets, just got my zelotus yesterday and its driving me nuts @_@

They have certain sets of words with a few options to each set. Its like a randimization in the coding or something (i know nothing about coding)

when they want fed they'll say set 1 which will be 2-4 options lets say
when you feed them its another set
when you are standing there doing nothing its another set
when you're low health, when you die, when you whatever and performances. So its not going to be the same on every client. make sense?

that makes it not really cool because when my pet makes a joke, it might not be a joke on someone elses ... and that makes me look kindda stupid
