AD Credit Question
« on: April 11, 2011, 10:38:12 pm »
OK, so my brother and i both play the game on the same IP address, and i vote on that one. Would it be allowed if he voted at another IP address and gave me the credits?

Better sent in a support ticket so you can get GM response, and so that you have something to show them if a problem ever comes up but..

generally, as long as the two forum accounts never touch the same IP address, you're good. But if they do, or if the other IP address has someone else voting through it, then both of you could be banned.

But I am a player .__. for something like siblings needing to vote, you need to clear that with the GMs.

Also, why would he vote and give you the credits if he plays too?

I think as long as he votes and then gives you the credits, it's not okay.

it technically shouldn't matter. It would be the equivalent of buying ads off someone. As long as the forum accounts never touch the same IP, he should be good :x

no, it is not ok :)
same IP, I tried the same and the GMs kinda banned the forum account. Ofc, my brother now has a new internet and so different IP. Still, same IP, u cannot say "bro". It would be AD fraud :(

@__@ I think you missed the point, he's saying his brother would go to a different IP to vote, while he himself votes at home. I think Digi or someone did something similar, just can't remember who. So long as the IP addresses never touch, he should be in the clear.

I've wondered about this. Would be handy if I could convince my friends to vote for me. Of course, they'd probably be less than diligent about it. >_> "Play DotA with us instead, bitch!"

It's fine as long you BOTH are using SEPARATE IPs...

What about if he uses the Item Shop at home? Would that be ok or no?

No. He cant even log in on the forums at home. His forum account must never touch your forum account. And follow my advice, submit a support ticket and clear this with the GMs. We are players, we cant look at your IP address and tell you what is really going on. Submit a support ticket and ask.
