When a GM sees a need to ban an account just to keep it locked up until an investigation is over, how long does that generally take.

It can vary, sometimes, it's a case of the player who was being banned had their IP on someone else's account a lot (aka a friend's account, not really theirs, but they logged on a lot, or a significant other). So because their ip touched it so often, we banned it, then it just takes the player who actually owns the account to verify it is theirs.

Sometimes it's more complicated, sometimes it's even easier.

I know your busy doing a lot of tickets but when you see the need to ban someone to carry out an investigation, do you give that case expedience since your banning the entire account for the purpose of carrying out the investigation?

Their account got banned a couple months back with no word as to why from a GM so we assumed it was because they were carrying out an investigation, hence why I'm asking about it.
