LK or Pally (without frenzy or any skill increasing HP)??? I'm planning to build an uber-tank character.

If you want to tank, then you'd want resistance more than HP, because without any good reductions that 60k HP or whatever will drop in seconds.

LK has more HP and better offence but if you need a Tanker then use a Pally.

If I did choose a paladin, would it have a higher chance surviving an Asura Strike from an elite champ???

Yea auto guard can own champs. Auto guard + reflect is even better.
