Hi I'm just starting this game and I'm trying to make a character but evertime I get disconnected from the server: After I have set up the character and click okay. message says please wait.. then pops up "disconnected from server" could someone help please

If it's happening constantly even after waiting a while, I'd reccommend you install this MiniSetup:

Thank you Jay. I got through that problem.
But now I don't know what to do in the game. Could someone please guide me a little to where I should go or do to start. I don't know how to play RO and I'm really lost.

Well, here's the official FAQ guide from iRO:

But when you make your character, sell your Knife and Cotton Shirt, and look 5 tiles northwest from your starting point, and sell them to the Novice Shop. Once you have money, buy each of the 1z equipments from the same shop. Then kill things.

Thanks for that tip. I read the guide from RagOnline but didn't really get a clue on where to go. Does the game save automatically or do I need to save? Like do I need to go save after I buy/sell things? And how can I heal my HP.. it's pretty low right now.

No, it's always autosaved. Th eonly thing you have to save is your respawn point, which you can do at any Kafra NPC. They look like maids, in brown. Usually near Doctors/Warp Girls.

By the way, if you see a monster tha tlooks like a butterfly, named Creamy, stay away from it, if you act aggressively towards it, it;ll kill you easy.

I was told that too, when I started. I hit it anyway.
Sure learnt my lesson.
P.S We need a beginners guide to aRO, I mean, every server is different.

That's pretty good, i do remember another one that went into more detail though, it might on been back on animaro forums though.

Nah, that one is good enough.
I think the pictures posted in the thread make it harder to read... I think urls would be better IMO...
But for people who are too lazy to read, it's fine.

How do you use a skill?

Click the skill button on your Main info box, then double click the Skill Icon you'd like. If it's an Active skill, the mouse cursor will turn to a circle/arrow icon, then you click the target of the skill. Right click the skill Name to see it's effects/info/etc.

Another way is to press F12 once. A bar will appear with little squares.
You can click+drag skills, equipment, ammunition and items there. You can use them by pressing the right F# key.
(Roll over the square to see they key used for that square) This is a faster way to use skills (useful if you need to use skills often, like cart revolution)

Cards are placed in Equipment Slots.
Shoes [1] mean the Shoes have one slot. To insert a card, you have to unequip the equipment, then doubleclick the Card to open a window, there you select the equipment you want to card, and it happens!
However Poring cards are for Armor, so you'll need a slotted armor.
You can't take out cards unless you pay a hefty fine, so choose wisely and plan ahead. If you get a really good weapon, don't put a bad card in it.

Ah then I'll just hold on to it in my inventory, until I know more and what to do with it.
There is a intro guide on Ragnarok Online. I think basic interface is okay but other things are not enough or too simple. I had a hard time figuring out what to do, though still am kind of lost. So I agree there should be a more detailed guide on how to start.

Well.. since there is a need for it, I'll see what I can do... I'll try to make a good one with nice screenies and such later. (mind you it'll take a while to get everything done right) It'll be done earliest tomorrow for me. I have some RL stuff I need to do too
